About the Opportunity
This role will serve as a central figure in our Product and Engineering team's daily operations for an 8-month fixed-term period. We are looking for a highly organized Project Manager to step in, ramp up quickly, and maintain the momentum of our software development lifecycle. In this role, you will act as the primary facilitator for our day-to-day operations, overseeing daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and issue triage. We will rely on you to proactively address developer blockers, meticulously maintain our Jira environment, and facilitate clear communication across departments. If you are a process-driven individual who excels at organizing complex schedules and collaborating with technical teams to deliver impactful tech solutions, then this role is the perfect fit for you!

What You Will Own

  • Run regular sprint meetings, including daily standups for Engineering and Product leads, sprint retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
  • Maintain Jira and the work backlog, ensuring tickets are up to date and accurate.
  • Triage production bug and improvement tickets daily, confirming priority, module, and team assignments.
  • Coordinate hotfix releases, manage ticket inclusion, and communicate release updates to the broader company.
  • Drive feature delivery from inception to release, ensuring timely execution at every stage of the funnel.
  • Partner closely with Engineering Leads to maintain a deep understanding of active workstreams, ensuring alignment between engineering effort and product priorities.
  • Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies. Respond to delivery challenges by escalating and providing contingency plans to senior stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to other departments via meeting summaries and bi-weekly interdepartmental reports.
  • Ensure interdepartmental documentation is up to date with project and scheduling changes.
  • Manage incident responses by ensuring external-facing teams are informed, incident tickets are created, and post-mortems are scheduled.

What You Will Have

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience working as a project manager, scrum master, or similar role (Project Management or Scrum Master certification is a strong asset).
  • Strong experience with Jira, Confluence, or related tracking tools.
  • A strong background working in web and mobile software development environments alongside technical and non-technical teams.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent prioritization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to successfully manage competing sprint priorities from various internal stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate interdepartmental communication.
Compensation, Perks, and Work Culture
This is a standard full-time position for an 8-month fixed term, created specifically to cover a parental leave. You can expect a consistent schedule of approximately 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the term. The role offers a pro-rated annual salary of $70,000 - $80,000, with the final placement within this range being commensurate with professional experience and technical skills. In accordance with the Ontario ESA, the compensation will also include an additional 4% vacation pay added to every paycheck, along with full pay for Ontario Statutory Holidays.

While this is a fixed-term opportunity, there will be a high level of team integration. You will be a fully active participant in our professional environment, with an open invitation to all regular team meetings, social events, and collaborative outings. To support your well-being throughout the term, you will be eligible for company-wide paid Wellness Days and will benefit from our paid office closure between Christmas and New Year’s Day, allowing you to rest and recharge.

Our team is full of talented and purpose-driven people who are dedicated to making an impact in the education technology industry. In this role, you'll dive into a fast-paced environment where your work makes a significant difference. If you're passionate about joining a high-performance team that thrives on tackling challenges and creating impact, we encourage you to apply.

Our Hiring Process
Every new hire will have a huge impact on our organization, so we take both the hiring process and the candidate experience seriously - we know that an interview goes both ways! We will keep an open line of communication throughout the process and ensure there is time at the end of all interviews for candidates to ask any questions.

How We Use AI in Hiring
At myBlueprint, we use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist with certain aspects of the hiring process, such as screening applicants, assessments, scheduling, and summarizing interviews. These tools support our team but do not replace human judgment, and all final hiring decisions are always made by our hiring team. We are committed to using AI responsibly, fairly, and in compliance with Ontario employment and human rights laws. Our AI tools are regularly reviewed to minimize bias and protect applicant privacy.

Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility
We strive to build a workplace where all employees feel included, valued, and heard. We are dedicated to maintaining a barrier-free recruitment process and will work with any applicant requesting accommodation at any stage. We embrace diverse perspectives and experiences and encourage candidates to apply, even if your experience doesn’t perfectly align with the job description - there are many pathways to a successful career, and we want to hear about yours!
